| Last year, Fire Rescue Emergency Services responded to 27 calls related to drowning.
This year, they have already handled 21 incidents involving drowning, and the summer season has only just begun.
To help everyone stay safe, here are some important water and pool safety tips for the summer:
Pool Safety - Be Alert and Watch:
- Always watch children and never leave them unattended.
- Keep children away from pool drains, pipes, and other openings.
- Have a charged phone close by at all times.
- If a child is missing, check the pool first.
- Consider having lifeguards present at community pools and for private pool parties.
