The Jamesport Volunteer Fire Department responded to a Vehicle Fire on April 9th, 2024, at 1935 hours on Vista Court in Jamesport, NY. The incident involved a four-door sedan which was actively on fire and was contained and extinguished quickly by our responders.
We are pleased to report that there were no injuries or casualties as a result of the fire. The fire, which was located in the engine bay of the vehicle, led to the closure of Vista Court from Peconic Bay Blvd for approximately 45 minutes.
Our department promptly responded to the incident with 2 engines, under the command of 1st Assistant Chief Daniel Doroski who ensured the safety of the community and swiftly addressed the crews to the situation.
We would like to take this opportunity to highlight the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and inspection in preventing vehicle fires. Proper maintenance practices can help identify potential issues early on and reduce the risk of such incidents.
